place was overflowing with fun and laughter. The Tower Foundation
presented Dr. Cichon with a generous donation for the Clinic Of
Angels. This fundraiser was another opportunity to spread the
mission of the Clinic Of Angels plus raise most needed funds.

Third
Annual Spring Kick-Off
April 19, 2010
The 3rd annual Clinic
of Angels’ Spring Kick-Off took place on
April 19, 2010
and proved to be a huge
success! Dr. Michael Cichon, Founder, introduced the 2st
Annual Nurse’s
Cap Walk honoring
the nurses and their respective school cap.
This was in honor of the tireless work of Florence Nightingale, a
ministering angel who was known as The Lady
with the Lamp. 25
nurses participated this year. Theresa Tatro, LPN led the walk and was
awarded the Florence Nightingale award. About 150 attendees witnessed
and learned the mission of the Clinic of Angels which is “to provide
medical treatment to patients with chronic illnesses and to end the
tragic consequences seen in a growing number of disabled and financially
devastated individuals when treatment is not available”.
The highlight of the evening was
certainly Miss
Teen North Carolina, Megan Willey’s testimony of her battle with
Lyme disease. When she was 9 years old, a victim while living in
Brandon
, was crippled by this dreadful illness. She overcame it and used the
Lyme disease battle and her support of the Clinic of Angels to win her
crown. It was a moving event especially when she finished her talk and
she moved to the side and stood next to a nurse. After 30 seconds they
both realized the nurse, Jackie, was her actual infusion nurse when she
was 9 years old!. What a wonderful moment that many shared to see them
embrace and relive the earlier time. Megan will use her position to help
the Clinic of Angels raise funds in the mid Atlantic states this coming
year. Good luck Megan and good luck to the Clinic of Angels!
Event Feedback
“I attended the 3rd
Annual Clinic of Angels event on Monday April 19th. As a
pharmaceutical representative who has become very close with Dr. Michael
Cichon and his staff, I new about the charity but had no idea the impact
it actually made on peoples’ lives.
“I was unable to attend the
event last year so I was very excited about going this year. With the
live band, good food and great company I obviously enjoyed myself, but
it wasn’t until I heard the testimonials that I really appreciated
being there. Hearing how Dr. Cichon and the Clinic of Angels changed
these patients’ lives and in some instances, saved lives, I was moved
to tears. One man got up to talk about his wife – how at her lowest
point, she tried to commit suicide because she had lost hope. She is now
on the road to recovery because of the resources and financial aid the
Clinic of Angels provided them.
“Hearing these testimonials
from not only loved ones, but from patients themselves, I knew I had to
get involved with the organization. I had no idea the damage Lyme
Disease caused and I left the event feeling more educated on the disease
and wanting to help. I have become very close with Dr. Cichon and his
staff, but after attending the event I had a whole new respect for each
of them. Looking back at the past 18 months of calling on his office, I
see the patient care provided and he has the bedside manner of a saint.
I have never seen him or his staff frustrated or in a
bad mood and they are treating some of the most difficult to
treat patients. Dr. Cichon is giving these patients hope and the best
care possible. I always get chills when I am in his office and hear the
bell ring because I know that a patients is getting better. Now I have a
whole new appreciation for the bell and I am very proud to be and
Angel!”
